How do you define Obsession? Is it a healthy part of the process when you first meet someone or is it a big old red warning flag screaming that a bad episode of cops is in your future? "I didn't mean to stab him officer it's just that I love him so much"

So what's your take on this?

the attention does not feel good at all.

u need to check the person's feelings before you start developing your own to such levels

because once you are rejected, it makes the situation all the more painful to deal with.

resulting in some crazy ass shit

Yes, I have also been a victim of obsession, someone put me on a pedestal and "loved" me for months, only when he found out I met someone else and was I having a real life with a real boyfriend he was so truly obsessed and his actions became very unhealthy. It took ages for him to understand that I chose somebody over him.

Obsession is awful when one can really understand what the word "obsession" really means...

I've been obsessed over and I've been obsessed with people. It all sucks, it's really not something that can be helped, like a wise person said on this thread, it needs healing. Sometimes it helps to be cruel to yourself or the other person, other times it doesn't. IME it just mostly takes time.
Obsession is "ok" unless it moves into action, I've had people message my phone and call me in the middle of the night, and I've lifted the phone many times to call somebody, also in the middle of the night. I've managed to talk myself out of calling though, but I can't stop myself from thinking about it, and I believe that this thinking is the healing and so is necessary.

Ok new question: What if both people are equally obsessed?

They could end up killing each other! Try to avoid that...

What do I do if my love for someone very quickly turns into hate? Should I prevent myself from loving this person too strongly?
