At Planned Parenthood, if a woman had a STD like chlamydia or gonnorrhea, she took one dose of medication while she was there in the exam room and was good to go--no other meds. Some symptoms of STDs don't show up for awhile, if you get symptoms at all (most women don't have any symptoms and don't know they have a STD). Watch for bumps/rashes/discharge that smells bad/pain during urination--but try not to get paranoid, too

Go to the doc with a friend or by yourself if you really don't want your mom with you. You can explain going by telling your parents that it's recommended that all women, even if they're not sexually active, get a Pap smear by age 18--cause that's true. If by some freak chance you have a problem, you can decide what to tell them then (you could just say they found a yeast infection or something--it does happen alot, lol). We always recommended that the girl tell her parents as much as she felt comfortable with, but we also knew that some girls would never be able to confide in their parents fully, so we advised them to talk some sort of trusted adult--a teacher, aunt, cousin, best friend's mom, etc.

Oh k...i hint hint to my mom about getting me checked up right...but i don't think its gonna work...she says u don't need to go if ur not active...and im like oh shit...so i know she's not gonna take me anytime soon dispite my reasons like im 18 and i should to detect early signs of cancer and stuff like that...
So while i had this time...i found a free clinic around the downtown area...and so im just gonna go there then...so is it totally free? or is there a little charge...because i won't mind as long as it's not $60-$120 bucks...and yeah...i'll call em up soon and find out...
