Most recently ~~~ Rabbit-Proof Fence
The strength of the human spirit and the realization of how far we have gone from our core connection between the earth/environment/natural instints and intuition makes me sad beyond belief

The Elephant Man with John Hurt and Anthony Hopkins. It was just the way he was so gentle and appreciative of the way his friends helped him. Particularly when he was given his shaving kit and taken 2 the cinema, discovering his inner self, after the abuse and mocking he's been subjected 2. I find the end of the film also quite poignant and moving as John Merrick (The Elephant Man) rearrangers his pillows knowing his death is near.
