TERMINATOR 3

.
So I just watched this last night, and I gotta tell ya, I'm a little disappointed. TheQuaid2k and I left the theater with a puzzled look on our faces...we agreed that something was missing, but we couldn't put a finger on it.

Today it came to me. It was good to see Arnold and all, and there was quite a bit of mayhem, yes...but the movie itself lacked the "darkness" of the previous two...the new Terminatrix is powerful, but not scary. Robert Patrick as the T-1000 was scary. James Cameron did NOT direct this movie, and I'm afraid it shows...it plays more like a John Woo flick than an emotionally involving sci-fi thriller...

Plus it seems that with each new Terminator movie, they turn up the action and turn down the actual violence. Not much blood in this movie...mostly just one big chase...

I enjoyed it, but it didn't live up to the franchise. neutral

I caught an advance preview of the movie...

I must say, while I know what Teller is saying, I had a hell of a lot of fun watching this movie! I haven't enjoyed going to a theatre that much since... well... I suppose the last Austin Powers movie (don't judge me, I really enjoy a stupid laugh).

Anyways, the movie was a lot of fun, and I don't care to get into any more detail than that.

The only way I would pay to see Terminator 3 is if they dropped the terminator's robotic cock and nuts in some sort of metal sheering machine and sliced them into wafer thin sheets and used them to tile a makeshift spacecraft's outer shell.

I saw Terminator 3, and I walked out of the theatre thinking "where was the fear element in this movie?". The first 2 movies scared me when i first saw them, but this one didn't put the fear in me like I wanted to. It's a awesome movie with a lot of action (and good acting I might add) but it wasn't scary like the first 2. The T-X wasn't scary and relentless like the T-1000 was in T-2. The ending wasn't that good because Arnold didn't go through hell to kill the T-X like he did with the T-1000. Being a Terminator fan, I guess I came into it with my own expectations and didn't take the movie for what it was since it was done with a new director and all. I knew that T-3 was going to be a tough act to follow after T-2, because T-2 was one of the best action movies ever made (and probably one of the best movies ever made, period).

This movie will blow you away if you don't care to follow the storyline and other details. It might dissapoint you if you're one of those Terminator geeks.

Arnold should find other things to do.
I hope that this time he won't be back for a change.

Is it any surprise that this movie sucks? I mean it's Hollywood action sequel. It was destined to be crap.

I loved the first one, and hated the second, so I never expected much from this one. Haven't seen it yet, but I know what to expect.

Does anyone know which T2 DVD is better? The Extreme version or the one that came out before that?

the extreme version is the one to get if you don't have t2 on dvd yet... it has a new high def transfer, both the extended and theatrical cut of the film, all of the extras on the previous sets, and a new commentary by james cameron.

as for t3, i've already seen it twice... it was everything x2 and matrix reloaded combined weren't... looking forward to the dvd.

it wasn't the best (popcorn) movie of the summer (that title belongs to 'finding nemo'), but it's a close 2nd.

Extreme is the one to go with as it has the Jim Cameron commentary.

That and no Edward Furlong either. It was good... very good. But, not great. smile

I fucking loved it. 10,416 times better than that assdripping of a bad shit of a movie that was Matrix:Reloaded. I wouldn't by any means refer to T3 as a "good film," as it's not exactly high-minded or anything. However, it was far better than I thought it would be, and kept my fucking eyes glued to the screen (and my imaginary tongue glued to the TX's imaginary tits) for two hours. Fucking good movie. It also has one of the best endings I've seen in a LONG time. Fuck happy endings -- I like shit like this!!!
