Detatching Ad-Bots From My Computer????

When I took that "How Gay Are You?" quiz that was linked on here, I came down with a nasty little bug...namely an ad-bot that has been blessing me with unwanted pop-ups every few minutes. I located the program on my hard drive that's facilitating this, and to undelete it I have to log on to the Internet and download an uninstall program...which seems like only an invitation for MORE trouble.

Has anyone dealt with this before, and is there an easier solution to this problem than chucking my PC out the window? I believe the program is by "IE Marketing" or some shit like that...

Thanks for any advice you may have.

I phoned Hammer, but he was busy filming a new AmeriDebt infomercial. Woe.

Thanks for the advice - I've tangled with spybots and ad-ware before, but this IE crap is pretty sinister stuff. Beware.
