EW! millipedes!!! everywhere!!!! I've killed over 15 millipedes running around on my carpet tonight! This is fucking sick and giving me the creeps.
I usually leave my windows shut and run the AC, but once in a while I will open them up (theyre screened in) and air the place out while I'm at work. We've been gettin some frequent rainstorms lately, and I guess the weather is driving these little pests indoors. What has freaked me out is theyve probabbly been coming in and wandering around for weeks now and I just never noticed them because my carpet is real dark. UGHHH!!! any of you ever had these pests and sucessfully got rid of them???

I hope they're all out by the time you go to bed tonight, I'd hate to be awake wondering if there are any crawling around in my sheets...

me, i've got these pesky lil' gnats that sometimes come in thru one of my window screens (it's gotta small hole in it)...i cannot stand those things, they're attracted to the light of my pooter screen at night, so i'm always smackin 'em and i gotta clean up gnat guts off my screen.
that, and it seems like they're attracted to the warmth of my breath. breathin one of those bastids in is not cool!!!

Millipedes fucking gross me out more than any bug in the world! Every time I SEE one I get the shivers. I'll never touch one, and if it's in the same room as me, I watch it like a hawk untill it leaves, or else I'll leave.

The "plus" to this all is that Im reading that millipedes and centipedes are relatively harmless to humans, and actually can do some good. They eat other bugs and pests.
But then again, thats sort of like saying "Its ok to have an axe murderer around, because he'll kill off all the other axe murderer's coming in" I'm hoping this is just a fluke from me having my window open and the recent weather. ughhh!

Here is how you get rid of them:
Place a small rock or stone on the floor in the area you see them most frequently. Pour pepper on the floor next to the rock and wait. As the millipede approaches the rock (for he will be curious about its presence; it was not there yesterday!) he will sniff the pepper, sneezeā¦.and bash his head on the rock, killing him instantly. You have to dispose of the corpse though otherwise it will put off the next millipede. Handsclaps, for the gnats it is exactly the same but with two changes. Use a smaller rock, like a piece of grit or gravel and attach a small picture of an attractive Gnat to the rock. Gnats are less curious than millipedes, known fact! Good luck.

goodness gracious, what's with all the violence, guys?! they are perfectly designed little wonders of nature, and you and your lifestyle are much more in THEIR way than they are in yours! just pick the little things up and gently put them outside - it's really not that hard. plus, it does wonders for your karma, and with all the trampling to bits and bug bombing on this thread, it sounds like you could use it!!
