I think PETA...

... well. I'll go a different direction, and be more charitable...

I think PETA does and says outrageous things to push the extreme animal rights view in order to make the more moderate views more acceptable to the mainstream. Every other day, they're out there with some idiotic statement or protest, etc., in order to make the middle-ground more appealing and logical.

It's genius, really. If I'm being charitable...

does it matter, i mean it's gonna be killed and eaten anyways right?

No offense, but yes, it does matter. We can do better in caring for the animals that we raise as "food." Think of it this way, we're all gonna die someday too, yet the quality of this life seems to mean a lot to most of us.

I hope he's a better writer than he is a radio host. I mean, Christ, when Art Bell left, they put him on the station I listen to instead, and then 3 months later, replaced him, in turn, with Art Bell's replacement again.

His show really sucks.

As a long-time member of PETA (and vegan), i commend them on being truly innovative and working the system in their favor. today, only shock value gets media attention, and they work it better than anybody i know. i've met many of the PETA folks - every last one of them is personally 100% committed to their goals. and Bruce Friedrich is one of the nicest people you'll ever want to meet, while being incredibly educated on all animal rights issues. worship

I think PETA's tactics are a turn-off to many people, but they do draw attention to isues that most people would rather not think about --in order to continue to harm animals guilt-free-- and I appreciate them for that.

"They're just going to be killed anyway. . .". . .you're gonna die someday too, does that mean it doesn't matter if your life is miserable? THINK, people.

human life IS miserable. why not spread the suffering around a little, to dilute it? biggrin
