How much do you usually tip a waiter or waitress?

Holy shit... my tip to the waitress at my last meal was "quit asking so many questions."

I am...usually at least 20%. I think most people who waited tables at some point in their lives are good tippers, cause it takes them back to when they had to do it. (Unless the service was just obviously shitty)

Well. I waitressed... I was horrible, and was humiliated on a daily basis. Only once in my life did I not overtip... I am not bragging... you don't want to hear the stories!

Hmmm, 10-20% depending on service. Someone I know just tips 3-5 dollars no matter what (well, if the service is bad, they don't give a tip)

im a big tipper..i know that tips are peoples lives...for those who are working for them...if they deserve it...theyare getting a good tip...i have left a dollar b4...with a note...to someone who wasnt soo hot

I have a tip, don't eat eggs and ride the bus.

If they deserve one. Sometimes places add it into the tab. But I tip fairly. A tip means they did something 'extra' for you and in return you tip them as a thank you. If you deserve one you get one, if not you don't. It should never be expected.

Yes I am a huge tipper...I was a waitress in college so I know what it is like. I leave nothing less then 50% even if you do a shitty job. Just cause I know what it is to do that job.

I never tip if I feel I have to, I tip at my own discretion, and that depends on the service, mood and atmosphere. The amount depends on how generous I am feeling at the time and which country I am in...

They get paid to do a job, if the service is bad tell there boss.

The tip isn't "a little something extra" you give to your server when they go above and beyond their job for you.

The tip is just as much a part of your bill as the food itself. If you can't afford to tip, you shouldn't be going out to eat, period.

That is the server's wages. Servers don't go into work each day for free.

I tip alot only because I used to be a server, but 20% of your bill is the typical amount these days.

Also, keep in mind, from the money these servers make in tips each night, many have to give a portion of that to the bussers, bartenders, and food runners, as well, which can easily add up to a third of their earnings for that evening.
