don't have a parrot of my own, but i do petsit for several, and i've found that the ones with a varied diet and lots of freedom to exercise are the healthiest ones (not plucking feathers, friendly, healthy weight, etc.) kinda the same thing as with people, i guess...

he doesnt have a feather plucking problem, he is free to roam the house although he likes to be pearched on top of his cage and he is very talkative. i leave a plate of veggies/fruit on his cage every morning and he just seems to chop it up but not eat it, kinda like the rest of the furniture

When I went abroad, I let this friend of mine look after Fluffy, my hamster. Well Mary was a tight bitch and a real straight laced girl. She thought Fluffy was too chubby, so put her on a diet without my knowing!!! omg

She gave Fluffy one nut a day, bloody hell, mad I gave Fluffy anything she asked me for...and let me tell you, Fluffy was so destraught staying at Marys house, she was so pleased to see me when I returned... sad

We got LILY when she was about a month old.

i have six birds, two cockatiels and four parakeets. they're a riot. they're total snack lovers, so every day features at least: toast, lettuce, carrots, corn, with celery, parsley and other assorted foods on the menu. when they hear me open the refrigerator door, they 'CHIRP' and if it;s snack time and i'm running behind, they let me know lol i let them fly around all the time except at night, so they burn off their calories.

we are taking care of two cockatiels while a friend is on vacation - i can't get over how food-focused they are! i've never seen anything like it! sounds like you're having your hands full with those 6!
