tackam

I don't wait for men to buy me jewelry. . .if I want it (which I generally don't), I buy it, so I don't need an appraisal.

What a strange question.

Now course it sounds bad getting it appraised, but if it is one expensive piece of jewellery, you would be [i]stupid[/im] not to for insurance reasons... mr.green

well, once again, if you dont put monetary value on sentimental things then there is no need to have anything appraised. if any piece i was given was stolen or lost, an insurance company still could not replace (nor would i allow or want it to) a personal treasure in any way, except with market value in terms of cash. how can you lose what you never had? the item would still hold the same value in my mind without a replacement piece or cash in the bank.

but, to each his own. biggrin
zesty!!!

I know this sounds scandalous but I'm sure there are some women out there who have done it, but have you ever had a ring or necklace appraised that you received from a guy?

My wife wouldn't need to... the jeweler who made her engagement ring provided me with an appraisal.

NO, bcuz I ALWAYS was THERE 2 pick it out and saw the $$$. If I hadnt been there, and I was in doubt as 2 its being "the real thing" I would have it appraised only bcuz the guys I've dated had the money 2 buy "the real thing", so I would have been insulted 2 have received a cubic zircon or worse. U could wait till the thing turns your neck or finger green, if its gold filled only, or worse. Plus, U do get 2 recognize quality yourself after a short while, thus needing an appraisal only when & IF u need 2 pawn it. Why is it scandalous or terrible 2 want 2 know. HE doesnt have 2 know u did so. If u love the guy, it probably wont matter, but women are curious about these things.
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses
