The ODDEST injury I've ever seen on "Trauma: Life In The ER" The show is all about the Emergency Room, and their
daily routines...my wife loves this show. This maintainance man was on a 10 ft ladder, when he FELL off. He landed on a tree, first! The tree was 2 inches in diameter. He came into the ER in the air, butt nekkid, with a good 3 ft of tree sticking out of his ass! They prepared him for surgery, not knowing how far the tree had penetrated. After cutting him open, they found that the tree STOPPED JUST BELOW HIS HEART! DAMN! They then took an electric saw and cut the stump which was hanging outside of his ass, then preceded to slowly pull out the rest of the tree in sections. The tree had missed every vital organ...the only damage was a torn bladder, exploded rectum, and some of his lower stomach. He was stitched up and sent into recovery. They warned that he may have life threatening infections as a result of the debris (woodchips, leaves, etc.) left inside. He fully recovered. WTF??? Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Anybody that says a paper cut is the worst pain, just tell them this story, and see if they feel the same afterwards.

I saw this one where this guy was driving and lost control of his car. He swerved off the road and hit a fence. He was still conscious, and had no idea how bad he was hurt, when this passerby came along and saw him bleeding in the car. A metal pole from the fence broke off in the impact and impaled him straight through his forehead and out the back side. He was actually pinned to his seat, and they had to bring the whole car seat into the ER with him before they could try to remove it.
Amazingly, they were able to remove it without much brain damage done, and he was on the show talking about it. He has this circular scar about the size of a quarter in the middle of his forehead. That's damn lucky. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

There are some nasty injuries on that show...
All I know...DON'T eva put a chest tube up in me... . That looks like it HURTS! My wife jokes that a "chest tube and spleen removal" is what every patient gets on the show. And they always show the incision for the chest tube and you see all the blood spurting out and the patient screaming in pain. I guess, after working on folks who are in severe pain for so long, you become accustomed to it. Definately not my line of work...
