 muse!!!Whatever you do, DON'T eat Bertti Botts flavored beans. I sat with the kids and we had a great laugh yesterday at this huge book store testing them out.  I got one that tasted like SARDINE  Sugary sardine! There is also Vomit and bugger and spinich! They mix a few of those with all the great tasting ones. My 12 year old suddenly wasn't hungry so we shoved them into my 7 year old!  Was great!I tried some of those too (my daughter had a box). It's incredible how they actually got these jelly beans to taste like that... dirt, vomit, boogers, pepper, sardine, grass, etc... We laughed all night trying them out. And yes, I tried them all out!!! The vomit was hideous! EVIL! OMG! The vomit tastes just like that... vomit!!! Unbelievable! My kids and I dared eachother to taste it, then we all ran to the bathroom to spit it out before we actually vomited!!! |

The earwax we didn't get. I never believed they could simulate the flavors in such a way you just knew what they were. There was no mistaking vomit OR sardine! Grass was no biggie! | |

Then Y do people buy them? its all in fun!!! I remember thinking surely they didn't really flavor them and was I surprised when I found that they did. They are like the flavored Jelly Belly's do you know which ones I am talking about..they have buttered popcorn flavored ones that are so good.

i bought the book today...
i read them with my son...both of us enjoy them, but we are certainly not obsessed. it's a great way to spend some educational time with my 7 year old where he doesn't feel like i'm forcing him to do school work (yuck!!)  you're only as old as you feel..............so how old do i feel 
Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants. | |

I tried to find out what all the hype was about a year ago, but I couldn't get past page 2 of the first book. There are just some things too mature and childlike even for me (though, I freely admit to reading comic books and regularly watching cartoon network at the age of 26).
But, hey, I think it's great that something/anything has gotten kids and families interested in reading again. Uh, "it's fundamental..." and stuff. | |
