Well I´m not exactly a newbie (I posted for the first time in 1996), but I can understand why a lot of people, including myself, haven´t filled in their profiles. To me, the right to be anonymous and not be judged by looks, race, age, gender or anything else but your personality and ability to express yourself is one of the best things with the internet.
On the other hand, I admit that I sometimes check out people´s profiles with great interest. Especially if someone has posted a pic of him or herself (which is rare, even for you "profile lovers"). The point is that you have a choice and noone should pressure you either way. I can say this though, that if a majority of people start posting pics of themselves, then I might be inspired to do so too. | |

Because in all my years living here, I have realized that most Dutch people love to hear others talk about themselves, yet not reveal anything about themselves in return. There are people I have known for almost six years, and I've realized that I know nothing about them really. Yet, of course they know my whole life story. This is partially my fault for telling them I know, but they just keep on plugging away with the questions all the time. I had no idea I was so interesting.
