Help! Need Advice…

…On My Great Motorcycle Adventure (any tips would be welcome smile)

I am planning a motorcycle journey of North & South America, my intended plans are to loop the entire coasts of both continents from Alaska to Chile (haven’t decided where to start/finish), and of course I will be journeying further inland.

Besides on any route tips I need to know about visas. Visa’s are not a nomad’s friend so I just want to know if anyone has ever done something similar to this and how “easy/hard” it was getting a visa for another country when in already foreign country (I have a British passport).

If I get my place at uni held for one year then I will leave as early as next year…if not I will have 2 wait ‘til 2005, so I got plenty of time 2 plan and save up for my bike (BMW R1150GS Adventure biggrin) Any estimates of cost for this X mile trip and roughly how long I should give myself to fully appreciate it (although I like racing, I am not trying to brake any records on this one wink).

PS I will literally be travelling on a shoe string budget (no hotels for me!), and travelling alone, seeing as everyone laughs at my plans rolleyes…any tips for making my £££ stretch? Also, anyone know if there’s a better tourer than the R1150GS? I read this bike can go around the world 10 times wink but I would like the input of fellow biker…i’m sure we have some out there… hmmm

Thank You! smile

Most Europeans can stay in the US for 90 days with no need of a visa. if you go outside the US and enter again, you have another 90 days. But if you do it too many times, they'll be suspicious.

If you want to stay for more than 30 days, I don't think there should be a problem extending your stay.
