I had my 2nd lesson tonight and I come from no musical background what-so-ever...it's very challenging (ok i'm learing the basic chords right now) - but i would love to hear form other piano players on their first few lessons...i'll adapt to it won't i??? Yeah just keep at it. It'll get easier. My first few piano lessons were a bitch though. I'm primarily self taught but learning basic chord construction helps a lot. It helps when you want to improvise on the melody. [This message was edited Tue Jun 17 19:10:42 PDT 2003 by NovaAngel] "I ordered no broth! Way to go Purple! I never took lessons. Though my vocal teacher in school taught me a couple things. I had a keyboard and taught myself to play (mainly by ear) and could get through a couple songs. It broke and I never replaced it.. Wish I had though. Can't wait to attend your first recital! Look out Elton and Billy!

It's the same with learning any new skill. Your fingers'll get used to it and learn the proper positioning after awhile (muscle memory). Play around with one or two chords you learned and see which ones sound well together then later make up a simple melody and see how it fits with the chords. Damn, I wish I had an electric piano [This message was edited Tue Jun 17 19:20:52 PDT 2003 by NovaAngel] "I ordered no broth! Away with ye lest my cane find your backside!!"- Ralph Wiggum, Actor.
