Growing up with Music?

Who was brought up with music??? Meaning did your parents play any particular music/artist when u were young??

I was brought up on Neil Diamond, my mom would play him all the time, and because of that, I have a great love for music, it has shown me many different kinds of music, and my love of music has growm for me to like many different artists and styles, which I hope to pass on2 my children in the future.

In short I was just wondering if any1 else had been brougt up appreciating music like I have.

Unfortunately I grew up in circumstances where the music my parents played became objecs of hatred for me, I had my music but at times my father destroyed that as well. It took me a long time to listen to some artists/bands because of that, and some songs still give me near panic attacks. It took me a long time to really enjoy music, but there are still traces of my past, for example I rarely play music loud on my stereo. Loud music, unless I put it on myself, makes me nervous and uneasy, tears come easy then.

My parents didn't play much music for me. But I grew up with lots of people around me, so there was still music.

My parents listened to Prince, The Commodores, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Billy Joel, Abba, Quincy Jones, Elton John, Frank Sinatra, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, West Side Story and Sound of Music soundtracks, Neil Diamond, Glenn Miller, Santana, John Denver, The Cars, Hall and Oates, Steve Miller Band, The Eagles, etc.

Stuff like that. At least that's what I remember listening to when I was younger.
