ALRIGHT NOW!
Won't you listen?

When I first met you, didn't realize
I can't forget you, for your surprise
you introduced me, to my mind
And left me wanting, you and your kind

I love you, Oh you know it

My life was empty, forever on a down
Until you took me, showed me around
My life is free now, my life is clear
I love you sweet leaf, though you can't hear

Come on now, try it out

Straight people don't know, what you're about
They put you down and shut you out
you gave to me a new belief
and soon the world will love you sweet leaf

David Bowie - Station to Station

The return of the Thin White Duke
Throwing darts in lovers' eyes
Here are we, one magical moment, such is the stuff
From where dreams are woven
Bending sound, dredging the ocean, lost in my circle
Here am I, flashing no colour
Tall in this room overlooking the ocean

Here are we, one magical movement from Kether to Malkuth *
There are you, you drive like a demon from station to station
The return of the Thin White Duke, throwing darts in lovers' eyes
The return of the Thin White Duke, throwing darts in lovers' eyes
The return of the Thin White Duke, making sure white stains

Once there were mountains on mountains
And once there were sunbirds to soar with
And once I could never be down
Got to keep searching and searching
Oh, what will I be believing and who will connect me with love?
Wonder *who*, wonder who, wonder when
Have you sought fortune, evasive and shy?
Drink to the men who protect you and I
Drink, drink, drain your glass, raise your glass high

TWO TIMES:
It's not the side-effects of the cocaine
I'm thinking that it must be love
It's too late - to be grateful
It's too late - to be late again
It's too late - to be hateful
The european cannon is here

I must be only one in a million
I won't let the day pass without her
It's too late - to be grateful
It's too late - to be late again
It's too late - to be hateful
The european cannon is here

Should I believe that I've been stricken?
Does my face show some kind of glow?
It's too late - to be grateful
It's too late - to be late again
It's too late - to be hateful
The european cannon is here, yes it's here
It's too late

It's too late, it's too late, it's too late, it's too late
The european cannon is here
WHAT IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW? THERE WASN'T ONE TODAY!

I can't believe no one's mentioned:

"Pop Life" by Prince

What'cha puttin' in your nose,
Is that where all your money goes,
The river of addiction flows, (and when it gets hot)
There won't be no water - when the fire blows, baby...

Pop Life, everybody needs a thrill
Pop Life, we've all got a space to fill
Pop Life, everyone can't be on top
Life, it ain't too funky, unless it's got that pop"

Or

From, "Sign O' The Times"

In September my Cousin tried reefer for the very first time,
Now he's doin' horse... it's June...

... I'm sure there's more... I'll think of 'em later... confused

Under Ice - Kate Bush.

It's wonderful,
Everywhere so white.
The river has frozen over
Not a soul on the ice.
Only me, skating fast.
I'm speeding past trees leaving
Little lines in the ice,
Cutting out little lines,
In the ice, splitting, splitting sound,
Silver heels spitting, spitting snow
There's something moving under
Under the ice,
Moving under ice - through water
Trying to get out of the cold water
"It's me"
Something, someone - help them
"It's me".

Eminem, afroman, cypress hill...why don't you try some proper stoner music - PRIMAL SCREAM. they have a song (hell they have an album for just about every drug experience you can imagine. the best, from a whole album dedicated to drugs (tracks include MOVING ON UP...DON'T FIGHT IT, FEEL IT...HIGHER THAN THE SUN...INNER FLIGHT...LOADED (opening lyrics "just what is it you want to do?"..."we wanna get loaded and have a good time...and that's what we're gonna do...we're gonna get loaded...we're gonna have a party") and I'M COMING DOWN)

COME TOGETHER

(DJ/preacher voice over intro)
this is a beautiful day,
this is a new day,
we are together,
we are unified,
because together we got power,
stay on the stroke and you will hear gospel and rythm and blues and jazz,
all those are just labels,
we know that music is music,
stay on the stroke and you will hear gospel and rythm and blues and jazz,
all those are just labels,
we know that music is music,
GOSPEL...GOSPEL...GOSPEL...GOSPEL...GOSPEL

(gospel choir)
COME TOGETHER AS ONE
COME TOGETHER AS ONE
COME TOGETHER AS ONE
COME TOGETHER AS ONE
COME TOGETHER AS ONE
COME TOGETHER AS ONE
COME TOGETHER AS ONE
COME TOGETHER AS ONE..repeat for next 8 minutes

(background)
this is a beautiful day,
this is a new day,
we are together,
we are together,
we are unified,
we are together,
because together we got power,
we are together,
because together we got power,

all those are just labels,
we know that music is music,
GOSPEL...GOSPEL...GOSPEL...GOSPEL...GOSPEL
we are together,
we are unified,
we are together,

the name of the game is power,
if you ain't playing power you're in the wrong place,
brothers and sisters,
the name of the game is power,
if you ain't playing power you're in the wrong place,
brothers and sisters,
the name of the game is power,
if you ain't playing power you're in the wrong place,
brothers and sisters,
the name of the game is power,
if you ain't playing power you're in the wrong place,

we are together,
we are together,
we are unified,
we are together,
GOSPEL...GOSPEL...GOSPEL...GOSPEL...GOSPEL
we are together

I should point out that this is 11 minutes worth of lyrics. shame on anyone who hasn't heard this track.

"A Daisy Chain for Satan"
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult

"I live for drugs."
"That's great."
"I freaked out very very badly."
"I freaked out on acid."
"That's great."
"I'm the white rabbit."

Here where I sit alone lost
Here I will dream, why
Give me a drink, I need a think now
I gotta rip my stinking brain

"My friends turn me on."
"I could never afford it, I would never buy drugs."
"I live for drugs."
"That's great."
"I'm the white rabbit."

Black boots, highway broads
Dope forever, forever loaded
Black boots

"I freaked out on acid."
"I'm the white rabbit."

Here where I sit alone lost
Here I will dream, why
Give me a drink, I need a think now
I gotta rip my stinking brain

"I freaked out very very badly."
"I freaked out on acid."
"I'm the white rabbit."

Yeah they do but since they kicked the guitarist out of the band, they've kind of slipped a little in my opinion.

Dirty Sanchez & Kicked in the Teeth make me want to break shit. I love it. I've seen them live at a hole in Detroit and the guitarist started a fight with someone in the audience. It was a great show, what punk rock is all about.

HELLO!!! I can't believe no one thinks Starfish & Coffee is about drugs!!!

Starfish & Coffee, maple syrup &jam
butterscotch clouds and a tangerine
with a side order of ham.
If you set your mind free, baby
maybe you'll understand.

Come on!! These are "high" lyrics if I've ever heard them.

The song is about a disabled child and how she sees the world. The refrain you mentioned is just illustrating the difference in her world and ours.

I can't wait to find out...I wasn't too happy with 'The Red Shoes' (but, Rubberband Girl was cool) and I know she has so much more inside of her.
I want 'The Dreaming' and 'Hounds...' and 'The Sensual World' Kate back smile

Yes, I have heard that is what the song is about, but I just don't believe it. If that is the case then Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds and Brown Sugar may not be about drugs either. I believe it is all open to interpretation.

How about Prince's line at First Avenue on March 21, 1987, right before he opened the show with "Housequake"?

"And for those of you on Valium, my name is Prince."

Feel clueless no more!

'Kissin in the back row
That’s how we missed the movie
Said you had cottonmouth
That apple juice was groovy
Splish smack on my lips
Apple juice kissin makes me roll my hips

Kissin in the doorway
No where else to play
Cottonmouth pillow lips
Better take a swig of this
Splish smack on my lips
Apple juice kissin makes me roll my hips'

When you smoke pot you get 'cottonmouth' and sometimes it feels like your lips are all blown up.
When you get something to drink it's like rapture.
-- so I've heard smile
