Pointless threads being locked. . .hmm. . .now what I'm thinking is, I'm sure glad it's not my job to figure out which GD threads are pointless. . .

Ben has stronger opinions on the issue than I do, I think. We tend to be very flexible with regard to the content in the GD forum... the obviously pointless threads would be stuff that doesn't even attempt to create a discussion or start a conversation (you know, starting a thread with just an emoticon, or a blank message, or some gobbledegook). I think the threads you see visible in the GD forum show that we aren't enforcing the rules too strictly with regard to pointless threads - after all the GD forum is just for miscellaneous rubbish and a few laughs
