Moderator | ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME PETITION I'm not sure if this is in the right forum but I figured it would get more attention here in GD.
Is there anyway we can start a formal petition to have our man P inducted into the hall of fame? there was a thread earlier this week saying that they were in deliberations over who should be nominated for the next ceremony, but I can't find it now. So who out there wants to help me start a grassroots campaign to get Prince inducted? Where would we start? In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

Hear, hear! I'm all for that.
The Rock Hall just met on June 5 (see thread [w] http://www.prince.org/msg...tid=51147) to discuss who might be considered into the Class of 2004. THe Detroit Crawl is very interested in this and will plan a motor baby event in Cleveland when Prince gets nominated. We are in the initial stages of setting up an afterwhatever in the Warehouse District in Cleveland (likely Spy Bar on W. 9th). It's been 25 years since For You. I remember there was some talk back in March and late last year when Prince was omitted from the Class of 2003 list. | |

So how do we go about starting a petition that the hall of fame would pay attention to? Maybe we can get the moderators and such involved and make it a prince.org campaign what do you think? P only became eligible upon his 25th year in the recording industry. He's like a Jordan, Magic, Bird, Marino, Montana: definitely a first ballot HOFer. But he has offended a lot of industry folk in his career and I would not be surprised to see him get snubbed.
Although he should have been elected the minute he was eligible. People won't truly appreciate him 'till he's gone. He'll be celebrated like Miles at that point. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
