It seems as though an org member(or ex-org member) has been sending fake emails from an email address that looks just like mine. He also jacked Ian's address, sending bogas emails to me. He's a sad little bitch who has to hide behind a computer to act tough. Funny coincidence how all this started immediately after EvilWhiteMale2 was deactivated. And of course, that may have been a dual account from a current orger.

Here's the last email he sent:

it's me Ian.I've got your password now.Don't bother changing it.i'll always be able to get it.Now the real fun begins.Stay away from the org if u know what's good for you.

Sometimes he would use Ian's email address to send these, and this time he used mine.

Anyway the point is to not trust emails if something doesn't seem right about what's written. Unfortunately, assholes like this are too chicken shit to deal with people in the real world so they have to do in via the internet.

It's funny coz his messages to me were very obviously fake. What a waste of his time. Any 14 year old kid can post a (badly) faked email.

Anyway I'm discussing the matter with his internet service provider at the moment and it may involve legal action against him so I won't say any more on the matter

Damn. Is there anything we can do to protect ourselves. Is it only e-mail addresses in our profiles that are being used or the ones we used to open our accounts?

Unfortuantely it's not too difficult to do this type of thing, so anyone could do it. The good thing is that a sorry ass like himself will never amount to shit, so his own life will be his punishment.

Basically, if you are sending an email you can set the "from" address to be whatever you like. So you can easily send an email from "prez@whitehouse.gov" or "elvis@kmart.com" or whatever you like. Of course, closer inspection of the email headers reveal it to be the fake that it is.
