I don't feel sorry for people who die of cancer because they smoked whole their life. stoned

Does that make me a heartless person?

That is a seriously shitty thing to say

Have you ever watched someone slowly die of cancer

Seeing the life drain from them day by day

I just hope that you never get it

Much love yes Pochacco

that was a ignorant comment. ignorance is based on not knowing all the facts or basing your facts on fiction.

My mom died of colon cancer, my sister has breast cancer. they were strong, intelligent, and beautiful women. Neither of them has ever picked up a cigarette in their life.

I sure hope you or anyone you love ever have to go through the chemo, radiation, and pain associated with this disease...However if thats what it would take for you to understand...then...

I'm sorry to hear about your mother and sister.
I didn't say that I don't feel sorry for people with cancer, only those who have smoked for so long, they got lung cancer because of the smoking.
And I am truly sorry for those people who just got it. There shouldn't be any diseases in this world...

i think her royal badness was reffering to ppl who DO choose to smoke their whole lives and then die of cancer.

i don't believe herroyalbadness meant ppl who don't smoke. if thats not the case,...then yes you're a fucked up heartless cow for making that comment.

I smoke..I am not asking you to feel sorry for me. I hope I never get this disease..I take responsibility for myself.

I know my family and friends will care.

I know you are young HerRoyalBadness..but you are old enough to know how heartless this comment sounds.

I know what she meant; it is still shitty to say.

No person deserves to die.
Not even stupid persons.
Like people who post these threads.
Some people have LOST people they loved because of this disease and she buldozers over their feelings.

of course no one deserves to die. smokers know full well the health implications of choosing to smoke. SMOKING KILLS. end of story.
so to smoke you know you may die of cancer...what does thats say about the smoker?
should smokers be considering the feeling of their loved ones they may leave behind?

hey i don't mean to be controvercial here...just being devils advocate. i don't smoke...i don't like smoking but everyone has a choice to do what they wish.

My point was: I really feel sorry for those who die, for their families and friends, for the people around them who care. What I am saying is that when a person smoked, he knows damn well that he can get cancer, there's a bigger chance to get the disease. Those people, I don't feel sorry for.
I personally think that smoking is stupid, not to disrespect anybody here who smokes, because I've done it myself some time ago, but it really is stupid.
And for those here who smoke - I honestly don't wish for U or your families to die, that would be a really mean thing to say.
The thing that pisses me off is that smokers KNOW, they have a bigger risc to die, and that's the end of story.
So all I am saying is: that's true, the most people don't deserve to die. And yes, I may be a heartless cow, as someone said, but that was if I had said I didn't feel for dead people.
Understand now? smile

Maybe you should have thought about people that have lost friends and loved ones before opening your stupid mouth

It's not that people drop over everytime they have a ciggie, sweets.
Cigarettes are still addictive and being pushed as something KEWL to do.

And so many people, like my mother, have smoked since they were young, when nothing was known about the destructive nature of ciggies.

People should just know when to keep their big mouth shut.

well, you got your first lesson here. better make sure people are clear enough about what you mean.

Cancer has so many causes, so a general comment like that will get you in deep trouble.

Who would have thought I would come to the Org and be faced with my own mortality? it's an odd place the Org..sometimes.

big grin

I smoke therefore I will probably die of a smoking related illness. That is something to think about...agreed. I agree it could have been worded a LOT better.

Don't you know that alcohol kills too? People who drink heavily their whole lives can die from liver disease. Do you feel the same way about this too?

My dad's friend died of cancer last year. His cancer started in his lungs. He quit smoking 25 years ago. He understood the health issues associated with smoking and decided to quit. He lived a healthy life. Do you feel sorry for him?

Well, I don't smoke, and I don't like the smoke, but I think there are many things that will get you killed before the smoke does.

If he understodd that it was actually his fault in some way, I feel very very sorry for the man. There's nothing more terrible than death from a disease.
Sorry for your friend too. sad

i know...and thats how ppl i know died. when i hear an older relative of mine cough and have a real difficulty in breathing...it saddens me. he knows smoking is gonna kill him soon but he won't stop cos of habit. its an addiction i will never understand. ppl do give up but its because they want to and most smokers i know don't want to give up cos they enjoy it. why should they give up a pleasurable experience. The KEWL aspect is for the kids...not adults. i applaud anyone who can give up.

We can't all do everything it takes to live the longest possible time on earth. Some of us trade quantity of life for quality of life, we take some pleasure.

I smoke...I drink too...and I eat fatty foods...and I'll die one day.

I can honestly say (and please don't think me heartless for saying this) that I don't feel sorry for people who start stupid, flamebait threads and end up getting their threads locked.

I know, I know... it's harsh to say it, but these people deserve a swift kick up the arse. Who is with me! woot!
