Description

In 2002 The Cure performed on three successive nights in Berlin, playing an entirely different album from their extensive back catalogue on each night. Each performance is captured in its entirety on this 2 disc DVD set, beginning with "Pornography," then taking in "Disintegration," and "Blood Flowers." Robert Smith's band paved the way for the gothic rock movement of the 80s, and ended up out-living many of their peers, becoming a worldwide, stadium-filling phenomena along the way. These live performances are a special treat for their fans, seeing the band perform many tracks for the first time in over a decade.

OOoh...cool...
I saw them on their Bloodflowers tour and it sucked. However, the Kiss me, Kiss me, Kiss me tour in the late 80s was great! smile

i always loved the cure. and, i've always felt like they have been so wrongly stereotyped. their catalog is much more diverse than their reputation. while they do have a strong dose of those slower, introspective, "goth" songs, they do a lot of up-tempo stuff, and are good musicians. robert smith has a really good sense of humor about his image and doesn't take himself nearly as seriously as most pop icons.

You are quite right... they are not necessarily a "goth" band in the traditional sense of the term.

I think I might have to get that myself, it sounds awesome.

I saw them a few times in the late 80's and early 90's but haven't really kept up with anything they've released since then.

Some people are like Slinkies...

They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Disentegration is one of my favorite albums by anyone, ever. I can't be at home during a thunderstorm without throwing it on the stereo. I'd love to see their performance of this album, and see how it compares/contrasts to when I saw the Disintegration tour. Yum!
