Last I heard, very few piercers were willing to do it, and even then, they usually would do it only on fellow professional piercers and "experienced" piercees. Things may have changed since then, though.

BTW, the piercer credited with inventing the uvula piercing, Jon Cobb, did my tongue piercing when I was visiting Philadelphia. I don't wear jewelry in it anymore, though.

Anyway, this reminds me... I should go to Metamorphosis this weekend and have my nipple piercings stretched to 14 gauge. I still want more piercings, although I'm running out of options (especially in light of my job).

After reading about it, I've decided not to do it anymore, mainly because it seems bothersome (it takes a while to forget it's there - hence, you're constantly aware of this thing in the back of your throat) and dangerous. I'm not worried about the needle in my throat, as it's better to do the piercing leaning forward, so the uvula dangles forward and nothing can be swallowed. However, it's my mouth, and I love eating too much to endanger that pleasure. I've also never honestly seen a uvula done that didn't migrate, making for an ugly, lopsided piercing.

Oh and I have a very sensitive gag reflex, which doesn't help!



True, true. Like I said, it wouldn't be so bad trying to find a piercer (living so close to both Berkeley and San Francisco), but I want somebody experienced, not just somebody who read some articles and wants to try it out.

Like you, matt, I'm afraid I'm just itching for a new piercing... and the uvula looks SO rad!

Hmmm...I guess first I'd ask if you are referring to emotional intimacy or physical intimacy? And then secondly, I"d ask if "intimacy" = "intensity"--physically and emotionally.

I find sexual intercourse to be more emotionally intense--the idea of someone literally inside of me is pretty hardcore! But then oral sex--giving or receiving--has its beauty as well, in that it can be more physically intense and pleasureable in its details!

Luckily, we can all have BOTH! Why choose only one?
