Honestly some people are only happy when they sit on the sidelines and constantly snipe and criticise. Fact is - there is a message at the top of the GD forum page that makes our policy clear regarding posting adult images. I orgnoted richb8 and politely explained it to him, and he overreacted. Who cares? Are you directing this towards me? Because I sure would like to know why, if you are. I don't see what it has to do with my comment above about how some pictures are posted and left there, and others aren't. You replied to my post and said it was removed later, which I was unaware of, but I did see those pictures up there for a while. I didn't "report" it to any moderators because: A. I thought someone else would have done it immediately, or that they wouldn't even be there very long anyway, and B. I don't plan on ever reporting anything to moderators. This isn't grade school, I am not a tattler, and I think I can handle what I see on my screen before me. This is your problem. If you don't report problematic posts, you have absolutely no right to complain about our "inaction" regarding them. This is a free site, run in our spare time - so we don't get to read each and every post. If you spot something which breaks the site rules, reporting it is a sure way of getting it sorted. It isn't about "telling tales" on people -as you said, this isn't school and I'm not your teacher. Simply put - this site is a community effort and the community of people here need to do their bit to keep things running smoothly. None of the Org moderators have the time to scour every single thread looking for problems, so we will miss things at times. This isn't a commercial site, and we don't guarantee you any level of customer service. If you want the site run better, do your bit and report stuff. If you don't want that is your call, but you can keep your complaints to yourself. Like I said, just making an observation about how some pics were left up to my surprise, and some weren't. Simple as that. Is that a complaint? I've never once complained about the moderators "inaction" (your words, not mine) regarding problematic posts. I honestly don't know what you are on about. I'd like nothing better than to downplay the role of moderators and reduce our workload - ultimately as a community we kind of have to "police" ourselves or else it just doesn't work. If this was a site like NPGMC where we were taking money off people for membership and we had full-time staff running it, we could of course stick to an "us and them" approach to moderation, but for a small, independent free site like this it really is down to the people who frequent this site how good or how shit the site is. Thankfully so far, thanks to the cool people who visit the Org each day, it's been mostly good | |
