what's not funny what do you think is going too far for the sake of comedy?... i know i can be one of the crudest people on this site... but i think anything to do with sex and children is in bad taste... i've often seen the subject of molesting children used for humour... but i feel that it's such a serious issue that it should never be made light of
so what subject matter do you think should be left alone? and before anyone gets on my case... i'm not trying to be judgemental... i'm just stating my opinion on a subject... and am interested to know how others feel about it

I think any kind of humor that's alienating to someone is going too far. But even that is subjective to the person viewing it - someone's always going to be offended by SOMETHING. But still, I think there's a way to laugh about anything while still recognizing the dignity of everyone.

I'm guilty of making jokes about paedophilia but that's because I was abused as a child. That doesn't mean that it's right but it works for me. People often make light of serious subjects because it becomes a way of coping with things that they can't get their head around and I'm one of them.

I am grossly offended by any jokes about doodle-whacking.
That shit's just not on. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

All humor should be outlawed, as it will offend someone somewhere and we need to be as politically correct as possible and we should always be careful not to offend anyone.
Maybe we should also appoint someone to be the judge of where the line is drawn... well, we should really go with my first idea and outlaw all humor. SUPERJOINT RITUAL - http://www.superjointritual.com

Even then, if you're able to make it so the butt of the humor can laugh at themselves, you've done a better job than the cheap joke that just makes you look like a boob.

I'm not saying it's right but that's just the way it is... like jfk jr's wife asking him if he's going to shower before they got on the plane and him saying no i'll wash up later... :evililol: not right but funny

We find so many different things funny... I don't think we can really allow thought-police to decide what we are allowed laugh at Sometimes it is taboo, but joking about a serious matter isn't always the same thing as being dismissive of that issue or making light of it. Indeed humour is sometimes used to great effect in illustrating serious topics.
Gotta use common sense ultimately though, especially in a forum like this. If some English guy told me a "stupid Irish" joke to my face, I'd punch his lights out.

yeah I think anything like molestation, rape, etc. is truely tasteless!!! As far as always offending somebody I understand Anxiety's point. I have many friends from India and they all laugh when I do my Apoo or Jerky Boys Indian impersonations. All of them except for the two sisters Pooja and Prianka, they are both Hindu and they hate it. They say it's derogatory, so I won't do it around them. Oh well, I am middle eastern, considering I was raised here and called everything from a camal jockey to a towelhead , I can take a joke. Shit I can listen to Dennis Miller or black comedians on BET's comicview and laugh at their terrorist jokes. I love to laugh. -------------------------------------------------

I try not to analyse humour too much.
However, causing offence is often the funniest part...
