Once as slaves, now as a paid job... Taking as the perspective: my job.
When I arrive at 7 in the morning, there is an army of north-african woman vacuming the building and cleaning desks. At about 11:00 in the morning, an african man comes to refill our coffeemachine. At about the same time, another african man comes to clean the toilets. So the people who the white people used to have to work for them as slaves, still work for them, only now they are paid to do it. I have worked at a lot of office/buildings, but I have NEVER seen a white person do this work. Isn´t this a bit strange...? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have definitely seen white people doing this kind of work but I live in New England. I would think that these things would be different depending on the geographic location and culture.

There's a big difference between being captured or bred, bought, sold and abused as property and working a service-industry job.
Inequity of wages in American society notwithstanding (and that is a serious issue), this thread topic makes a serious leap. There's a world of difference between the two existences. Admittedly, a person in a low-wage job has extremely limited options, but that person is not property and *still has* some options.

Most of them are either white or Asian here.
=== There is this Co. that won't be named, and in this one paticular facility (in So. Cali) there were 700 employees. In Adminastrstion there were three (3) Blacks, Which was almost the biggest consintration of Blacks. The rest was made up of (from the most to the least) Whites, Asians, and a Mexican. In R&D the mix was different. There were more Asians, But the heads of the Departments were all White. And there were no Blacks, Or Mexicans there. In Merchidising There were three (3) Hispanics (Non-Mexican) Three (3) Asians and the rest were White. In the machine shop, The head of the Machineshop was a Young Black Man, There were seventeen (17) Asians, the rest were White. In Assymbly There were two (2) Blacks, the rest (in order of most to least) were Vietnamese, Laotions, Koreans, and Mexicans... The ENTIRE Janitorial Staff consisted of six (6) Blacks, and a Puerto Rican... Is this an "ODD MAN OUT" Co. NO!!! Again i say "Look around you where ever you go before trying to sugar coat, or POO POO whut's being said. Esspeacially in Africa They out number the White, i'm sure, So they would fill in the Most of jobs, but i didn't here him say it was a Black Owned Co. So them being in that position must seem stange to even the layman... Oh Yeah... The Co. i speak of was this way just LAST YEAR and in other facilities (of that co.) It's even more lopsided. Having said that, not one black person has aplied for a job with us in 15 months i've been there. We have White, Indian, Pakistani and a Southern African person working in our office. I've worked in several law firms as support staff, and I've always noticed the mailroom/repro guys are always of color (and almost ALWAYS male), and the people behind desks are predominantly white (except for the secretaries, who have a pretty diverse make-up, other than the fact that they're predominantly WOMEN).
I think one day these standards will be seen as archaic. That day hasn't come yet.

ALSO
Let me Qualify my previous post... Janitorial is the Little Sister of MAINTAINENCE The Co. polocy for hiring is, If you already work for the Co. you can apply for any other position with in the Co. and you ( if you qualify ) get first dibs on that position. Janitors get paid better than those in asssymbly, but less than Maintainence, Those that applied for Janitorial from assymbly (Whites) were put in Maintainence. The Janitorial Staff was hired outside of the 'exsisting workforce' There were Twenty (20) Maintainence Men... All White, and Trained for the position... It's whut those on Janitorial strived to get to I AM King BAD a.k.a. BAD,

There's so much we can do to make sure we advance in schools, get good educations and make the most of those opportunities. We all are not working on cleaning staffs.

It's just that the one who áre doing the 'dirty jobs' still are black people. That goes for at my school, at my job and when I am outside the ones who are cleaning the streets and train-station. Furthermore, most of the black people who do these jobs, haven't been in Holland for a long time and don't speak the language, since the often lack eduacation (I know, I speak with them all the time at work) they don't have much job opportunities. I think it's really good, that they do jobs like these instead of remaining home and collect wellfair. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
