They could have photographed the cat seperately with a pane of glass pressed against the lower half of the body, to get the squashed fur and paw. Then bring that image into photoshop and warp it to look cylindrical like the glass. Then superimpose the glass over top of it, add some minor details like the shadow, and you're done.
