I've wanted to pierce my nipple(s) for a long time, but I'm afraid if I do, my wife will think I'm out tryin' to get some or act "younger" confused

Just curious... have you talked to her about it?

My wife had no objection to me getting mine done, even though she really didn't understand why. She even went with me to the studio and into the piercing room... I think she liked seeing me in pain. smile

I wonder (and maybe some kind lady out there can answer this for me) if having nipple peircings is really painful during your period. In case ya don't know, many of us have very sore breasts before and during our periods. . .I wonder if having peircings would make that worse. . .?

In all fairness, she didn't want to actually watch the piercing itself... she says she gets sympathy pains just watching stuff like that. So she averted her eyes when they did the first one. But I guess her curiosity got the better of her during the second one.

BTW, having been through it twice (I first had one done when I was 17, but removed it about two years later because it never healed right)... I think this piercing is significantly easier for the piercee if he/she is lying down. That's how it was done the second time. The first time, they had me sit up in a chair like you'd find in a hair studio, and I thought it was more painful and harder to get relaxed.

Most "clit" piercings are actually through the clitoral hood... most women aren't suited for a piercing through the clitoris itself.

If I were female, I'd get a hood piercing. But a clit piercing? Probably not.

Anyway, since I'm male, the one piercing I'm reluctant to get is a Prince Albert, due to the possible "showerhead" effect.

You can always get a clip on...lol

I have my nose done... would love to have my tongue and possibly the "hood" done. Would not do my eyebrow even though I think it looks cute on some or my nipples. Not even sure I have the guts to do my tongue but we will see. If I do it, it will be done by the end of the summer. Will keep ya updated! wink

Co-sign. smile Eyebrow piercings tend to migrate out after a few years, and yes, I've seen the scar it can leave.

highfive matt!

Honestly, I've never met anyone who has had their eyebrow piercing for longer than a year.

As for me, I've had my helix for a year and a half, my rook for a year, and my nostril for 8 months. I can't imagine taking any of them out, but only time will tell...

Here's my piercing history:

  • Left earlobe -- 1994 to present
  • Navel -- 1995 to present
  • Right nipple -- 1995 to 1997, 2002 (repiercing) to present
  • Tongue -- 1996 to 1997 (see below)
  • Left nipple -- 2002 to present
  • Right earlobe -- 2003 to present

Like you, I intend to keep them for life. Even though I don't wear any jewelry in my tongue, the piercing is healed and still there. Maybe I should get a barbell with plastic balls (I lost a small piece of a molar after biting down on a metal ball) to have around for "special occasions." oral wink

I'm running out of things to pierce... my options are limited due to my career choice... but I've got a few ideas.

Man matt, you are so my piercing buddy. You've got a number more than I have, though...

Also like you, I'm running out of things to pierce... I have been tossing ideas of tongue and navel for around, but doubt I will ever go through with them.

I'm currently happy with my piercings, though, and don't really have any pressing urge to pierce anything new at the moment. Same with tattoos. My lit 101 TA has the stupidest tattoo of a Grateful Dead bear on her arm that's so ugly and she LOOKS like she regrets getting it. So I'm gonna wait.

My navel piercing went well. The pain was minimal, and despite its reputation for being difficult to heal, I had no trouble with it. I suppose it helps that I wear my pants below my navel, so I didn't have a waistband constantly rubbing against the healing piercing. (If you get yours done, it might be worthwhile to invest in some low-rise jeans if you don't already have them.)

For me, the thing with tattoos is that I just don't know if there's something I'd want inked on me for life. I remember drawing up a design when I was 18 years old, and at 25, I'm glad I didn't get that one done. And I wonder how a tattoo would hold up over the long term... they seem to fade and become less attractive over time.

I'm leaving the possibility open, though... maybe when I get older I'll be able to pick a design and feel confident about having it for life.

You have a navel piercing? I've never seen that on a guy. That's hella sexy. I wonder if I could talk my boy into that.

And can I second your decision to pierce your other ear? The 'one ear' thing is sooo ovveeerrr (says me).

If I may ask, what has your wifey thought of the tongue piercing in the past? Or has she never had the pleasure? wink

Piercing and tattoos. . .*sigh*. . .love 'em.

N'joi! smile

When I got mine done back in 1995, I knew of only two other men with a navel piercing: Dennis Rodman (!) and the piercer who did mine. (He said he did male navels from time to time, but it was much more common for women to request it. I blame the Aerosmith video with Alicia Silverstone.)

Since then, I have seen it on a few other guys, mainly fellow ravers.

I wonder if I could talk my boy into that.

Well, my wife really likes mine. wink
