I play ping pong on my breaks here at work... I take a vile beating... I keep coming back for more... I can beat a lot of guys, but there are guys who totally kill me at the game... damn, what fun. I will beat those other guys one day... maybe...

Does anyone else here enjoy the wonderful game known as ping pong? If so, do you have any tips for those of us who kinda suck at it?

I have been applying tennis strategy to the sport... I knock the shit out of the ball... I can do some good smashes and some really good spin shots, but my serve sucks total ass... the next problem is that I always end up hitting the damned net after about 6 or so shots... I choke... I need someone on hand to perform the Heimlich maneuver when I play.

I am using one of the in-between paddles... you know, the one that is not totally soft, but not hard... it has a soft cover, but it isn't padded. I really should get one of those better paddles though... you are right. You can get a lot more spin with those things.

The soft ones work great for me, but my buddy (the one with the p.p. table) prefers the harder paddles. He still kicks our asses most of the time. I love putting a nice spin on my serves to fuck him up though. We take our game very seriously, him more than the rest of us. He hates to lose.

I think champion ping pong players should get a cage of sparows and knock them back and forth instead. As long as they servive they'd be harder to hit. After a few wacks it would just be fun to see all the mess.

hey bkw tell you what? let's make 'air chimes' with ping pong balls. we'll put 8 of them in a 16" hollow wooden box atop an uprushing source of air so they bounce off the sides and top making that pleasing hollow 'clok' noise

then, i bet we could sell it for some real $$ at the next ORG garage sale. mmm hmmm
