INTENSIFY. Does anybody have any tips about making life worth while?
It all feels so fleeting at the moment and I cannot seem to reconnect with my inner core. I feel detached.

Gooey, you darling man.
Some ways I know of to feel connected to others and "get out of myself" and the self-absorbed thoughts in my head is to do things for other people. Such as volunteer work, preferably to do with something you feel passionate about. Some type of work or interaction that makes you aware of the lives of others, and how much there really is to be grateful for. Just a suggestion...it's worked for many. Maybe you, too? If not--you will find the answer you are looking for, I just know it!

Carrie Klimt lover, you! PURRR And good tips. It is so strange to feel detached and it is easy to make biggo mistakes in such a mood. I need to re-focus my thoughts and energies, as I have been in such a DOWN mood lately and now I am coming up again I just need that little extra push. Thank yououououou!

I think that could really help as well, to be surrounded by those who care about you. Be gentle and understanding with yourself--you've been in a foreign country for quite some time, and I know (from personal experience) how stressful, and at times disheartening, that can be. Another little tip--"fake it til you make it". By that, I don't mean to be fake. I just mean that sometimes doing all of the "right" things (those that are going to make you feel better) even when you don't want to can create the good, positive feelings!

The going home thingie! It's on for end of June, so I cannot be happier. It makes me write again. Lots of things; songs, short stories, working on my novel again, even essays about Prince's women unfriendly lyrics. And I celebrated by locking myself out of the house today.

I bet you can do yoga, but that entire put yer feet thing is okay for your lean body, but for me old bonez that don't work Yes. It's changed my life actually. I've been doing it regularly (about every day) for four years now, and I wish I had started doing it ten years ago. Of course, it's helped me physically for dance, which was the first thing I noticed immediately, but also mentally. There is a lot of pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditating involved as well as the physical asanas. As a whole, it really helped me in every aspect of my life. I am addicted ti it now, and would like someday to teach it myself. That's exactly how I used to feel all the time: detached. When I started doing yoga, everything just "came together". It's hard to explain, you just have to experience it. And it doesn't matter how old you are, what kind of shape you are in, or not in for that matter, or how strong or flexible you are. Anyone can do it, and you see improvement with each class. There are 70 year old men in some of my classes, and they get better with each session. Also, it wards of many illnesses and works on all your internal organs as well. Ok, now I'll get off my yoga soap box.
