The Oracle helped program the Matrix and is resposible for providing Neo with the choice (Trinity) that is supposed to cause the annihlation of mankind over the 24 hour period covered in Revolutions.

I think it's a great saga, and I enjoy the characters. The fact that the Wachowski brothers and I share a faith doesn't mean I agree with the assertion that Neo represents Christ.
Neo, if you truly study the New Testament with regard to Jesus being the Firstborn of many brothers, could be a plain old Christian exercising his spiritual gifts and walking as Christ walked. So, while Neo doesn't reconcile God and man, as was Christ's purpose, he can build on that foundation of Christ to meet the needs of his neighborhood/state/country/people/world while fulfilling his own Christ-centered purpose. Truthfully, we don't know that yet. There are endless ways this could go into in the next installment. I'm actually quite curious what they will do, because there are so many inter-mingling philosophies in the movie, that it seems like they will be forced to state that one of them is right. Being that the philosophies seem to deal with relativity and what is real, this seems impossible to do. It is for this reason that I have a feeling that the 3rd installment will have an ending that is grim, revealing only layer after layer of what we perceive reality to be with no real truth to be found. Hence, Neo's killing of the sentinels. Still in another dream world. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. If we crave some cosmic purpose, then let us find ourselves a worthy goal" - Carl Sagan | |
