Now did I see this thread coming or what?
Yes it is definitely pussified, although really you can not describe "NICE" as pussified, cos pussified has so many more meanings than Nice... I know where you are at with this one, but you can't compare any word with the irrelevant, non-descriptive word as 'nice'

...Discuss Well U probably already know how I see nice...as necessary. Somebody has to be nice. Otherwise, who would we go to when we are down? "Have a nice day." is just a freebie. Probably does more for the speaker than the one being spoken to. So...how's everybody doing?

It is so typical of the Americans today...yes ok and the English ...too lazy to be expressive, just stay vague when you speak, it is "nice", less hassle...

In school I had 2 write a story without using the word 'nice' 1nce. I thus conclude that its a bad word.

The word "nice" is kinda generic, isn't it. It describes a generally "good" or "pleasant" state of being. It's an easy thing to say, probably most of us don't even think about it. It's definitely not just American, though--in England and Ireland, I heard it alot to describe a cuppa (tea), food, a nap, just about everything.
Maybe "nice" isn't truly accurate for all the situations we currently use it? We could turn to a thesaurus and come up with some different words to describe our generally good and pleasant feelings
