this last one was a doozy. they had to wrap up the season and the show. . it's been a weird season for the writers i suspect. anyway it's the final chapter of a story in which good (once again) triumphs over evil as buffy (foolishly rejecting angel's help after he's traveled clear across the country to give her a magic amulet) comes up with a master plan in which super witch willow endows ALL the potential slayers with the full slayer power to kick some vampire ass! this major mojo also serves to awaken the potential slayer in ALL womankind. in the process of working this spell willow turns into a being of light instead of darkness, as we fear when she's used magic ever since last season's *change*) then, a grand finale as buffy and the other (fully-endowed) slayers charge the underground forces of evil by unsealing the evil basement of sunnydale high school and facing the onrushing masses of evil vampires teeming up from hell itself. a glorious battle, anya dies, principal wood dies, faith survives, andrew survives, dawn survives, xander survives, giles survives, buffy takes then somehow recovers from a mortal wound, (while wielding a magic battle ax especially for slayers) and then spike (heroic champion) strikes a pose wearing the magic amulet which lights up and shines like the sun, burning the evil vampires to death and collapsing their underground chamber. trouble is it burns spike away too. . . the collapsing chambers of evil cause a massive sinkhole effect starting with sunnydale highschool. the crew jump into a school bus and outrace the crumbling earth far past the edge of town.

and then at the end, the cast standing at the edge of a vast crater in the earth (think, grand canyonish) which once was the town of sunnydale and remarking on how nice it will be, now that ALL womern of the world are slayers awakened, to be able to take a break and lead normal lives.

Well first of all i am a bit dissapointed that Spike "died"... I put the "" marks cause you never know.. I have my theories on that thing he wore on his neck.. Who knows.. maybe he can come back.. I dunno... but i heard mixed things for months about the season finally.. that buffy died.. xander died.. willow goes to Angel.. .. I was totally crushed that Anya died.. but you never know! It was a bit humerous in the beginning... but i was a bit disappointed in the overall ending..

I agree it probably will have somehting to do with the amulet. Wolfram & Hart gave that to Angel, and you know that everything they're involved with has a catch.
