Organized religions encompass the Muslim religion, Buddism, Wiccan, Hinduism even some define satanism as an organized religion.

Back to the thread...what about those that commit murders in the name of movies, games, people...I mean obviously they are crazy but are they scapegoats as well? used as tools by those who want to ban these things?

This only proves what I've been saying for years: "insane" people always come up with something to blame their insanity on. If its not The Matrix, then its scary movies, or novels by Stephen King, or Ozzy Osbourne records. Or, if they really want to go for the gusto, they say God, or Satan made them do it.

If these folks are truly insane, then they would have latched on to something to make their delusions be justified. If they are not, then they are just looking for a scapegoat.

I've noticed that many atheist want to attack religion as a concept, because of all the evil acts that have been carried out in its name. The problem I have with this is that carrying an act out in something's name doesn't make it evil. The act is what is evil, and the thing that the act is being carried out in is just an excuse. Religion doesn't make people kill, any more than movies or music do. We all have free will, and can make our own choices. The second that soemone blames God, or Ozzy Osbourne, then they are trying to deflect blame for their actions. It always seems to be a vocal minority that makes a following look bad, no matter what it is.
