Sacrafice Happiness

Should you ever sacrafice your own happiness for the happiness of others such as your husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, children, family, friends or other important people in your life?

I guess it would depend..

For children... I definately would sacrifice anything for a child.

Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown

I do for my mother, because she's sick these days and put up with a lot of shit from me when I was a kid. I figure I gotta pay some karmic dues...plus, it's like my MOM, ya know?

Should you ever do it?
Yes, sure, of course.

Should you always do it...probably not.

I would not even consider it a sacrifice if it makes my child happy.
Making sacrifices for the happiness of others is a happiness in itself.
Selfishness leads to unhappiness all around.
It makes me happy to see others happy.
Also, when we make sacrifices to make others happy, it has a way of
making its way back to us.
It's a win/win situation. music

On the other hand, if U are speaking of allowing others' selfishness to make
ones life miserable, that is another story indeed. sigh

So...how's everybody doing? smile

I don't think it's unreasonable to
do it for a limited time.

But when a parent or parents are
unhappy, the children usually know.
And sometimes when they know, depending
on their emotional maturity, they're not
going to be happy either.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
