Not sure that I got this.

Did the Architect design Neo? Is he just a program? Of his two choices, what would have happened if he picked the other door?

What was all that jargon about that the architect said with regards to the computer program?

If their have been 5 previous Zions, does that mean they are also a part of the program, and another "anomaly" that makes his scheme work?

I was a bit confused. Those who saw this movie who can share their insight, I would appreciate it.

this is what i understood from that part of the movie:

the Architect is a program that created the matrix and he also created Neo because the people living in the matrix (us?? ) don't all believe it's real. 1% don't respond like they should so these people start leaving the matrix and they're looking for the One to bring it all down.

Since the Architect created all of this he can control it (remember that everybody is only doing what they're supposed to do) and when too many people are out of the matrix, he destroys Zion and it all starts over again...

Neo is like a little valve to release some pressure !!

I saw it with a friend yesterday who has an interesting theory: When Neo and the others are in the real world (outside the Matrix) they would actually still be in another Matrix...that could explain the end with Neo and the Sentinels...what do you think?

"The Matrix" movies sucked. If I wanted to see video game 3D animation I'd turn on my playstation, not pay $9 to watch a movie with a muddled plot and incredibly dry dialog, starring fucking Keanu Reeves who just about epitomizes the phrase "failed upward" Boy can't act his way out of a paper bag and isn't even remotely goodlooking to boot. He makes the same semi blank expression in every single fucking movie he's ever made. on both Keanu and "The Matrix"

The part at the end with Neo was great but raised some questions (sorry I'm trying not to give away too many details).

My friend actually brought up a good question as well. If the Architect is a program that designed the Matrix, who created the Architect? Just because he created the Matrix doesn't necessarily mean he's the person from the top controlling everything.

QstnOfU, I think your explanation is very well put. I kind of sort of had the same explanation, but I like yours much better.

Also, with regards to Neo stopping the Sentinels, I totally thought he was in another dream world. The way I saw it, Zion was designed to make rejectors of the Matrix think they had escaped. It was still part of the matrix. So perhaps, the next movie is going to take place with trippy kung-fu scenes in the Zion world, the second layer of the Matrix. And, we can never know how many layers there are. hmmm...


The other thing I noticed is that there are really two stories going on right now. Neo and the gang were fighting both a rogue gang of "bad" computer programs, and the whole matrix program. I wonder how these are going to come together, and also... if the rogue programs are acting the way they're supposed to.
