Welcome to the real world.

Hey, I'm not here to get your pity or respect... just your opinion. We all have our trials and tribulations... this was mine recently, and I shared. It's not a "my racism problem is bigger than your racism problem" thread... just a statement as to how people aren't always what they seem.

Your comment, "Welcome to the real world" is arrogant and uncalled for. I live in the real world. I've dealt with my share of shit... and am still. I did check your thread out... does that explain your comment? No.

When I wrote "I thought those days were over", I was very bummed out at the time. It had just happened to me... just then. Now, after thinking about it for a couple days... it's a very small blip on the racial radar screen... but, it jolted me.

I gave it. I think racism is a disease

Left field for sure confuse

First I was not trying to be disrespectful or belittle you so don't take out your cracked illusions frustration on me. Go tell old boy next door how you feel to his face instead. If you so bummed out confront dude. Don't fuckin jump down my throat because I was feeling you. Geez! BTW, can you please refrain from labeling me. I don't take kindly to labels, they do to me what finding out about your neighbor does to you mad!

I don't think BLACK C meant to insult you with her "WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD" quote.

I would've said the same thing to you.

I know exactly what you mean about people not always being what they seemed.

I dated a girl for 4 years.

Her father and I got along really well.

Until he started talking all the "WHITE IS RIGHT" *ullshit.

He used to make little comments every now and then that caught my attention but I figured they were harmless statements at first...

out of respect for him in his house, i didn't say anything

The final straw came when he was talking about minorities and the welfare system.

He made the comment that I shouldn't be offended because "I wasn't like THEM"

He just didn't understand the fact that I AM THEM.

While he saw it as a compliment to me, in his own twisted way, I knew I could never really respect the man

Had I not made myself blind to his prejudice for her sake, I'd of been out of there long before that

Sometimes we want to see the good in people.

You should'nt feel bummed out over it.

Just be glad you caught on.

It isn't worth your time or energy.

But it does totally suck.

Thanks, man... yeah, maybe I was a little to "touchy" with Blackcat's comment.

Thanks for pointing that out to me as a third party.

Sorry Blackat... hug

It's been a trippy weekend. Shit thrown in your face and stuff like that... makes you think silly shit, I guess.

I've been reading your responses and know that there's several ways to go from here. We decided that we will remain civil with him, continuing on where we left... Do I trust him? No. Will I be suspicious of his future actions and requests? Yes. His daughter is great, we have always found her to be a nice friend to Melly... needless to say, this has definately bummed me out, and has brought back all the memories of past racial situations.

I have alot of respect for you there... and it may not mean much coming from some1 my age but i'm proud of you and the decisions you've made.

beautifully handled June 7. clapping

unless he disses you to your face, what else can
you do? You now know he can't be trusted, and
pleasantries are the MOST he's gonna get out of
you. I don't see a need to take it any further.

Have a beer and a lol and be glad that you're one
of the good guys!

peace
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
