Shit--they're lucky they got this far. They did better than they deserved to so repsect to 'em. Like Nova said weeks ago, anything (being in the playoffs etc) was actually gravy. We just had 3 in a ROW. I'm not feelin bad. "Climb in my fur."

I don't know, Shaq has a tendency to be complacent at times. There was one game late this season where he verbally admitted he "wasn't up for that game." Maybe Shaq has to lose the opportunity of a title or 2 to be hungry again, but there's gonna be some new faces on the team next season. If you look back at every team in the history of the NBA that ever won 3 consecutive titles, they ended up having a total of more than 3. Daddy Laker late in the season said he was going to spend more money next season, so I doubt there's another dozen year drought on the horizon (a la 1989-2000) with the two main players. There may never be another team to win 4 consecutive titles in any sport. It's extremely difficult for a number of reasons. £ [This message was edited Thu May 15 21:29:45 PDT 2003 by Supernova] This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Him&Shaq&Kobe are all Cool&I'm with that.if we can get Pippen or Gary payton at Point that would be cool as well.I Would Love to get the MailMan.because the only reason why we are done is at the Power Forward SPot,Point&Soft Ass Bench.mistermaxxx

I really doubt the 3 big personalities would mesh. I'd be shocked if Jerry Buss and Mitch Kupchak wanted Malone. I heard Alonzo Mourning was available. He's not a Forward, but Shaq needs a backup, and I don't think Mourning can play as a starter. I could be totally wrong. Scotty Pippen wants to be a Laker. But I'm not too keen on the older players people are talking about. Both Malone and Pippen are closer to 40 than 30. I really don't want Malone. Forced to choose I'd take Pippen's old ass.
Plus, Malone is hanging on to get the all time scoring title; he won't get the opportunities with the Lakers for that. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I'd take Malone,&Payton Starting with Pippen off the Bench.I still believe with Jerry West we would have been better prepared for this Run IMHO.we can't have another Year of being exposed so badly on the Power Forward Spot&at the Guard spot not being able to move around Picks&Screens.gotta get those spots covered.on the Bench Side we gotta add some true role Players.I know Phil Jackson is upset because Jerry West got more out of the Grizzles than we did with the Bums we have on our Bench.I Miss West&this Summer will put Kupchak on the Hot Seat to See if He has what It takes as a GM. mistermaxxx

You know, actually that's really not at the forefront of my mind. It's partly that I don't like that he led the charge that forced Magic from the game. Some may say, well we didn't know as much about HIV back then, and that's true, but this is the kicker; Malone had NO problem playing with Magic in the Olympics in the summer after he announced he had the virus. Nobody heard a peep out of Malone about playing WITH Magic, Malone just wanted Magic out of the way because they never had any success against the Lakers in the playoffs - and with Malone's dirty playing history he probably figured that he couldn't bust Magic with an elbow to the chops, a la Isaiah Thomas because his blood was tainted. If he was so worried about playing in games that Magic participated in, why wasn't he worried about playing on the same Olympic team? My primary beef with Malone is that he's an extremely dirty player. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Maybe the Lakers could get Jordan as GM since my hometown BITCHES the Wizards screwed him over. It would be nice to have him and Phil working together again. If they got Pippen it'd be even better for the Lakers as well. "I ordered no broth! Away with ye lest my cane find your backside!!"- Ralph Wiggum, Actor.
