This is some wacked-out shit, and I love it. These movies were created by Matthew Barney, who's also Bjork's boyfriend and the father of her youngest child.

Any other fans of these beautifully freakish films?

I read an article on Barney in the New Yorker not too long ago and he sounds like a pretty interesting guy. He was on his high school football team and was the star player and all this but then he went to Yale and was unable to play. So what he did was incorporate his love of athletics into his art in a really fantastic way. I wasn't able to view the site right now due to time constraints but I plan on making some time for it tonight. Thanks for the link!

I had the opportunity to go see those films at the Guggenheim recently and had to pass because of another engagement. (The Guggenheim has an exhibition about Barney.)

I've been curious about these films for a while.

I haven't seen any of them..I have read about them thanks for the link Anxiety. A friend of mine payed 150 pounds to see Bjork at the Royal Opera House..It was well worth it he says! I can believe it!

I was fortunate enough to catch the Barney exhibit during a trip to NYC last month, and it absolutely blew me away...it's the closest I've ever felt to literally being on another planet or dimension - everything was so bizarre, and with such a great attention to detail. All the set pieces from the movies were scattered throughout the entire museum, and the whole place was like a disturbingly gorgeous Wonderland...the movies took a bit of work to get through, admittedly, ha...

- and that was a great New Yorker piece...I sent my copy off to a friend, I wish I woulda kept it.
