"Wigfield" by Amy Sedaris, Stephen Colbert, and Paul Dinello. Not as funny as I'd hoped, but funnier than most of the crappy books out there by TV comedians.

Fcuz, I have recently finished reading the rather bleak
"Waiting For The Barbarians" by Coetzee which we
would read for our 'org bookclub'.

Bleak?? WTF?

I found it a rather uplifting story about a man, his chattel, and the long arm of empire.

biggrin

...that is if I could remember it, it's been so long since I read it...

Hmm. I don't know, I thought it was all pretty bleak smile

This old tit constantly projecting his own ageworn self
onto others and getting worked up about wrongs he can't
fight. He's always fighting for the lost cause. The girl
the barbarians, the little hyrogliphic slips etc etc.
He's a very selfish old man and he tells his story in a
very partial and one-sides way. Yet he tries to convince
us we should feel some kind of sympathie for him since
he's the proverbial individual standing up the the Empire.
On top of that he's in fact a coward.

Yes, I did think the book was rather bleak. But perhaps
we should discuss that on another thread eh??
