Why do people do this?! Some guy just walked into a building at Case Western University here in Cleveland Ohio and is holding people hostage and already shot at least two.

These people NEVER get their way, I wish people would stop turning to a gun when they need attention.

I wonder if crime is up, or is it more televised, or is it more violent? Something just seems different about the shit that happens in this generation.

My neighbor is an administrative assistant at the CWRU Weatherhead School of Management, and even now (10:59 p.m. EST) she's couped up in her office with chairs and filing cabinets in front of the door. She said she has heard sporadic gunfire outside since it started. I was just next door, and she contacted her husband via cell phone. She's fine, but says its super tense in that place (a massive understatement).

The school's about 5-10 mins. from where I live. I took my daughter out for a ride this afternoon, and we hit a grocery store on CWRU's campus about 30 mins. after the standoff began. When we left the store, we saw tons of helicopters spiraling, but I assumed they were life-flight choppers because there are several big hospitals in the area. When I arrived home, I was shocked.

It's scary to think danger is sometimes so close and we often have no clue or warning.
