Luxury or Power.... What is more important to you when you buy a car? The luxury of it (airconditioning, leather seats, cruise-control) or the power of the engine...?
I'm currently in the proces of chosing a new car, and I'm currently more going towards the more luxury editions, instead of cars with a lot of horse-powers... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

when i buy a car i want it to have as much safety stuff as possible.
accelrate fast enough to get me out of trouble and stop fast enough to avoid it. have a cd player, comfy seats that hug as much as possible, power stearing, air conditiong, heated rear windscreen. anything else is a bonus.

I went for less "horse-power" this time as it was getting me in a lot of trouble. (Lead foot) SO I had all the bells and whistles placed in this one!

Right now, I drive a 12 year old Corolla, so I'd be pretty happy with a car that had airbags and a warranty.
Ideally though, saftey and enviromental concerns are first for me, followed by comfy seats, ac, a good warranty, and a great stereo. I don't care about power as long as it gets the job done. I may buy a car soon, and I'm probably either going to go with a Lincoln Towncar from the 70s (huge/safe and comfy but an environmental disaster and no warranty) or a new Toyota Echo (enviromentally great, under warranty, updated saftey freatures but small and not so cushy).

reminds me: a friend of mine in high school had a '78 lincoln towncar...baby blue w/powder blue velour interior, blinds on the back window...the ultimate pimp ride. he put so much work into restorin the car as well...treated it like it wuz his pride & joy (dude's a car buff)... ...then he went and sold the car!!! i'm still sorta miffed at 'im 4 that, and this happened four years ago. as 4 me, the closest i'd want 2 a pimp ride is a '79 cadillac seville...

Luxury does not always mean less power. The BMW 3 series offer a wide array of luxury & power. I went for the power the last time that i purchased a car **96 Camaro**...this time i want to go for the mix. I have been looking at the caddilac Catera's...they have amazing power for a car that size and there is nothing as luxurious as a caddy

Air conditioning is not a luxury in Indiana. With that said, only one engine is available for my car, and I chose the upgraded version with a leather interior, Bose audio, Torsen limited-slip differential, keyless entry, etc. Besides. my car is light enough that a 1.8 liter engine provides plenty of power. Luxury, but power is a very close second. All of my cars have had some power in them. If i could i would have a Viper or a Porsche. Love the sportscar with power.

me too. But if I had all the money in the world, I'd go more for style than anything. I don't know anything about cars, and don't really care. I'd want something quirky and cute. |
