He is supposed to stay on hold and his call with be answered in the order it was received.

We had that at the company I used to work for a few years
ago. Our clients were usually sad fuckers who'd shout some
verbal abuse down the line the minute they got through to
you.

At times when it was very busy, we'd be answering calls
with a team of 5 people [which was not enough obviously]
and people were sometimes forced to wait more than 30 or
40 minutes.

Since most of the clients were such bastards we would
always look for the most irritating music we could find
in bargain bins and put that in the cdplayer so they'd
go absolutely mental by the time they got through.

One day I took a call and this woman yelled "Right, you
fucking bastard, I've been on hold for almost an hour and
I don't even want to talk to you now. I'm gonna come over
there and stick that goddamn retart music cd up your gay
ass you fucker".

So I said "How'd you know I'm gay? I only just answered
the fucking phone, you social reprebate!". Hung up on her
ass and let her join the queue for another hour.

Thank god we were allowed to cuss out our customers. I
don't think I could handle a proper callcentre job. What
with all those fuckers complaining about music...
