Your car sound system

I'm beginning to wonder if you can't tell a lot about how important music is to a person by what kind of stereo system they have in their vehicle. What are you guys all rockin' out to in the car?

I have a very small italian car, so if I put an elaborate
soundsystem in it I'm probably gonna blow my windows out.

So I just have the original system in it that came with
the car. There's a cd-player, which is about all there is
to say about it.

Still, I only ever turn the sound up on the highway cuz
I hate driving around the neighbourhood with the windows
down and the sound up.

My current system is really wimpy, but it works...

Head Unit: Pioneer Premier DEH-840MP
Sub Amp: Soundstream Rubicon 500
Subs: 2 Soundstream SPL 10s

Call me cheesy, but I haven't replaced the factory door speakers yet... the head unit has independent outputs and you can roll the bass off of certain outputs, so I took the lowest bass out of all the door speakers and routed it to the subs.

Okay now we are cooking, I thought I only did this kind of stuff in this place.
Well here it goes, I used to manage a car audio shop for one of my buddies when I was in school and it was fun and I owned a show vehicle but now I'm on my second show vehicle now and just won Extreme auto 2003 here in my area.

The car is awsome and the sterio is all designed and built by me, it's an all hand made fiberglass enclosure and amp rack.

This is the run down on the sound.

sub amp: U.S.A. 100 x 2 on 4-10" JL Audio sp 1's in the rear.

2 U.S.A. 25 x 2 on 4 Alpine DDD 6.5" mid range woofers up front and 4 Alpine spl tweeters.

The output is channeled by grim reaper 1/2" diameter coax cables.

Up front output is pushed from an Eclipse 5300 E single CD player with DSP control with remote channled thru a

Pioneer 9200 digital sound processor with 31 band EQ with real life sound settings (ex. outdoor arena, studio, inside live concert and about five others, can't think of right now).

External power comes from an Optima 6 gel cell power plant with Reaper circuit breaker and 2 guage power wire that was so huge I had to run it under the car inside of a conduit rack *wipes sweat off forhead* with gold Rockford Fosgate terminal post and output heads.

All in all it can rock the shit out of my shop where I house the ride and it makes peoples mouths drop at the site of it.

there is no back seat as to house the system and with all of this I was able to engineer it as to hold a working spare tire, lug wrench and jack, of which I am very proud of.

Oh yeah, and Prince CD's galore. mr.green
