I'm marrying soon and made up some strategies to cope with the possibility she might suddenly let her sails drop down.

I've silently done a lot of mental excercises on my fiancee's face, making future scenarios based on already noticeable trends.

I've examined what has been constant about her looks and moves since she was 3 yrs old and found out that it was more than you'd say and that I really like it.

I've decided that she looks best when tired and having a hangover.

I have examined her mother very carefully, to the point that I got almost got a crush on her.

I have trained myself to get crushes on elder ladies in general.

I'm kinda trusting it now.

If you married someone solely for looks, you should take your fucking medicine and live with it.

If you married someone because you loved them, you wouldn't be terribly worried about it.

If the person became ugly because they fundamentally changed and decided not to take care of themselves, you should help them identify the problem and get back to health.

What if you didn't marry for looks, but they became unattractive to you physically, not due to letting themself go etc?

No problem ... it just means you find the person physically unattractive now ... but of course, the marriage wasn't based on physical attraction because 'you didn't marry for looks'.

I have just accepted that my husband won't always be his young, hot-lookin' self. Frankly, he wasn't as cute when I met him as he is now--finishing puberty and having a girl to give him style/hair advice has worked wonders. biggrin

In any case, I'm LOOKING FORWARD to us being 50 and having a long history and giving up on caring about looks/

rolleyes The only way my husband could be UGLY is if he became a nasty person. Perhaps somebody who is cruel to others because of their looks, for example.

Look at their parents, there's one clue.

Wait until you're 50 and then see will have you, you'll get over the ugly thing real quick.

I would still love them the same way.. I marry someone for their heart and soul and the way they treat me.. not only for their looks..
