Snakes. Hate 'em with a serious passion. They should ALL be doused with gasoline and lit on fire after chopping their heads off. Can't stand 'em. Hate 'em. Loathe 'em. DESPISE 'em.

And a phobia of not achieving my goals. Which is more anxiety inducing than snakes (for the most part I can avoid snakes).

Okay, y'all are going to laugh at me, but I have a fear of escalators. lol I think the reason why I developed this fear is because my mom tells me that when I was first learning to walk, I fell down the steps and hit my head (ouch)!

There was a time when I would not even go on an escalator, but that changed when I was in an office building once that had escalators, no elevators, so I was forced to go on it.

What's funny is that I'm okay going up on the escalator, it's going down where I seem to have a problem. confuse I am better about getting on a down escalator now, but it still takes me a few minutes to step on one, because I am afraid of stepping on the crack of a step, having it open up on me, and tumbling down the steps. lol

My other fear is losing my job, which just happened to me recently. I have lost my job several times already due to downsizing, etc. etc., and now every time I get a new job, that fear is in the back of my mind.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I'm not clinically phobic to anything, but I do experience some probably more-than-reasonable anxiety with:

Spiders, centipedes, millipedes, etc. I can handle six legs, but that's it.
Outdoor exposure at great heights. I can fly comfortably, for example, but I cannot approach the edge of exceptionally high buildings, cliffs, outdoor observation decks, balconies, see-through floors at certain towering tourist attractions, etc.
Being without my athsma medication
Enclosed spaces. I generally can deal if I'm aware I can exit, but being trapped really upsets me. I got stuck on a roughly 5-by-3-foot lift in Paris for about five minutes and probably would have gone nuts had I been alone. But I had to look cool in front of my wife. I do recall it triggered an athsma attack, though.

For a LONG TIME,

I've had a totally IRRATIONAL "fear" of Wednesdays..
because
many times in life, if something bad ever happened to me, it typically would happen on a Wednesday.

It got to point where
I would NOT do ANYTHING on a Wednesday

unless

I knew I had "full control" over the outcome..

Thus, for example, I would NEVER schedule a job interview on a Wednesday, for fear that something would happen where I would be really late, or, not get the job at all..

So, for most of my life, I've tended to be VERY "low-key" on the 4th day of each week, to simply minimize the possibility that some bad thing would happen to me.

In the last 2 months-
thanks to God-
I think I've finally found a way to get myself through this..

"Wednesday phobia"..
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..
