Men Who Don't Cook

Isn't that bloody pathetic that a man cannot find his way around the kitchen, so would rather starve, get a girl to cook for them, or grab a takeaway???

In this day and age, why cant they just get off their lazy backsides and throw some food in a pan and make their fucking dinner??? lol

How fucked up is that?

I say let them starve to death! evillol

I think that in my generation #'people try to put us down, talking about my generation' sorry, couldn't resist, THE WHO ROCK! headbang Anyway, I think in past generations this is an accurate account of things. However I think now as far as 'can't cook' is concerned it is more 50/50 now where as in the past it would have been 90/10 in favour of women.

The pendulum is swinging...there may be a time where it is just the one sex as men become more like women and women become more like men. Traditional roles are fast becoming a thing of the past. I'm first to admit that women are the stronger and superior sex, (in my opinion) I've no doubt women will have their revenge for all the shit they have had to endure of us men. In this day n' age men are more confused than ever with their role in society, relationships and whatever else. I think this is why men are 4 to 5 times more likely to commit suicide than women are.

Maybe traditional roles to have some value. The amount of couples getting married has decreased dramatically. At the same point the divorce rate has gone through the roof! I believe that marriage and family life is the best foundation for every well-balanced child to be brought up in, the cornerstone for society. Society is going to hell, so maybe this is the root of the problem. I'm all for women having equal rights especially in the work place; it is long over due. But maybe some aspects of this has went too far and men will have to start a...mmm...women have a feminist movement, what would a male version be called? Not sure but a male equivalent anyway! I'm no expert; I'm a man myself, I'm supposed to be confused!

For the record, I make a great curry!

hmm I don't like to intentionally put people down, it was just the reversal of AzureStars thread Men Who Cook.

Anyway, I think in past generations this is an accurate account of things. However I think now as far as 'can't cook' is concerned it is more 50/50 now where as in the past it would have been 90/10 in favour of women.

Thing is SCOTTNPG when there is an argument, men v's women, male cooks (professionally) are deemed better than women, if this is true - or not - it does show that Men CAN cook, they just dont want to.

The pendulum is swinging...there may be a time where it is just the one sex as men become more like women and women become more like men. Traditional roles are fast becoming a thing of the past.

I hope not, that is scary, I do want men to stay men and women to stay women

I'm first to admit that women are the stronger and superior sex, (in my opinion) I've no doubt women will have their revenge for all the shit they have had to endure of us men.

This womens movement happened long before I was born, but it is OUR generation who have to live with it whether they are for or against it, it is both confusing for both sexes, it has been left for us to deal with, not our parents sad

In this day n' age men are more confused than ever with their role in society, relationships and whatever else. I think this is why men are 4 to 5 times more likely to commit suicide than women are.

Statistically men do commit suicide more than women, but it is also that men do not talk openly about their feelings as frequently as women or seek professional help. Depression is still seen as a weakness with men, so they bottle it up until they really cannot cope.

Maybe traditional roles to have some value. The amount of couples getting married has decreased dramatically. At the same point the divorce rate has gone through the roof! I believe that marriage and family life is the best foundation for every well-balanced child to be brought up in, the cornerstone for society.

True, but also married or not, too many couples give up without fighting for what could be a great and everlasting loving relationship. Too many couples are so tied up in their own careers and little worlds that when they get home, they are exhausted and forget to communicate properly, and so give up. Divorce wasnt so common in days of old, maybe the wife relied to much on her husband and vice versa so they stuck through thick and thin, and worked harder with their marriages. Today, people are so much more independant so if they are unhappy in a relationship can more easily walk away, and start up again, sad as though it is too.

We in our generation should fight this together, male and female. It is up to us to make society work and not let it all go to pot. We have to be responsible for ourselves and each other.

For the record, I make a great curry!

headbang I am coming to your house tonite! big grin My little brother has just started uni late last year, never cooked, but as he had great nourishing meals at home, had no other choice but to learn to cook them for himself, he is only 18, alot of his other friends live on junk food, but now he has the confidence, loves to cook and experiment, all I am saying is that it CAN be done, men and women CAN cook...they just gotta learn and have fun doing it! big grin

Let's be fair here, I know a lot of women who can't cook
for crap either.

I mean, whenever I tell some of my friends [male or female]
something about cooking or about nutrition they usually do
the "did you just pinch my private parts"-facial expression
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

My father cooks dinner every night, except for the rare occasion I can be bothered to put something on to eat. I'd about rather starve to death than cook.

My big brother is currently in culinary school. He loves to cook. biggrin

Alex can, and does cook about 3 times a week for his step-madre.
