IAN'S FLAMING DAYS
2001 I know this will be met with disbelief, but our calm, level-headed moderator used to enjoy a bit of flame action. I,ve never seen him flame, but witnesses report Ian was no slouch on the couch when it came to blasting opponents. Mr. Moderation is said to blame the outbursts on teaholism. Now reformed, he still uses his formidable verbal assertiveness in his present job as a moderator. [This message was edited Mon May 5 7:25:05 PDT 2003 by Aerogram]

AERO VS DAVIDEYE
1999 Even more incomprehensible are the little flame wars those two well-known pillars of the liberal Org establishment used to have. David was quite pro-label, pro-charts and very much pro-Madonna... and he most probably still is. Anyhoo, suffice to say that before I didn't know the guy, I flamed him a couple of times over his allegedly "commercial" perspective and his liking of certain songs of Boone family and Wham. In our defense, we were but Org pups at the time. [This message was edited Mon May 5 7:41:45 PDT 2003 by Aerogram]

AZURESTAR RUNS AN INTERNET GIRLFRIEND RING
1999 Back in those days, there were many lonely gentlemen on the Org. Azure emerged as a sort of "Madam" of an Internet girlfriend rinG that would provide company to those miserable souls, including the then so-named Honey. The service was free, so watch out what you put after "cyber". [This message was edited Mon May 5 8:06:44 PDT 2003 by Aerogram]

THE NOT SO GREAT CARMEN ELECTRA NEWS FLOOD
1999 Before "One Man Jam", there was one topic that always came up, thanks to the dedication of a certain fan : Carmen Electra. She was big news in 1999, nearly getting more news submissions than Prince himself. Carmen says something at award show? News. Carmen's mentionned in an article gone unnoticed over two years ago? Old news, but still news.It got to the point were every new Electra item was met by a bunch of insults. For a couple of months there, outsiders could have been forgiven for thinking she was Prince's most important associate ever. [This message was edited Mon May 5 11:43:59 PDT 2003 by Aerogram]

THE AERO-RDHULL "PRINCEFAGG" INCIDENT
1999? Although I didn't know it at the time, I first met RDhull on the Org when he allegedly used the word "Princefagg", which was all the rage back then. I don't think he was throwing it at anyone least of all me, but having never encountered such a term before and being the sensitive bleeding-heart liberal that I am, you bet your bippy I objected. I was reportedly heavy-handed and an ass in general, which I have no trouble believing.

THE FIRST ORGIE AWARDS
January 2000 On the fateful day, I hijacked a boring news thread to pay homage to the multifaceted talents displayed on the Org. Matt sort of officialized the proceedings by accepting his own award early, and a tradition was born that has been imitated ever since, most recently (and without prior authorization) by Chorgman's so called Hall of Fame awards. This first award shows was probably the first clear indication the Org needed more than news threads to breathe, if I do say so myself. STANLEY APPLEBAUM ARRIVES
March 13, 2003 March 13, 2003 marked a landmark in the history of Prince.org, as the damned near ubiquitous Stanley Applebaum finally decided to break his silence. It was on this fateful day that the org changed for the better, as Stanley had arrived and with him he brought the answers to all the questions in the universe. Many posts later, Stanley Applebaum has never been wrong and his answers and advice have helped many org members come to grips with the crippling reality of their surroundings. Stanley is love. Stanley Applebaum is reality! ... [This message was edited Mon May 5 13:29:26 PDT 2003 by StanleyApplebaum]

THE ORG, V 2.0 IS BORN
February 2002 On that day, the whole Org left the darkness of version 1.0 for the eyeball-rattling brightness of version 2.0. The initial reaction was, as always, mixed. The place was too big, too bright, too visual, too fractured, too community-orented, not enough news oriented, too rowdy, too tame, and just plain too much. Having spent the previous 12 months on AMP, I did not adjust well to the new environment. For starters, no flaming was allowed! Secondly, there was a bunch of comedians and not much appetite for real discussions inthe GD. I protested and complained and bitched for several weeks. Then a cataclysmic event happened, to be described later. [This message was edited Mon May 5 15:17:47 PDT 2003 by Aerogram]

HAPPYOTTER INDICTED FOR INSIDER ORGNOTE TRADING
March 2002 In this little known incident, HappyOtter was alledgedly indicted for trading Orgnotes with inside information. Ben had to sit down to design a way to prevent such scandals in the future and ordered the financially astute yet lacking in moral fiber HappyOtter to close his account and change his name. CHRISTOPHER DENIES PERSISTENT RUMOURS THAT HE IS GAY
OR AT THE VERY LEAST BISEXUAL March 2002 There were a couple of Chrisses in the Prince community and every single one was gay, so it was only natural than when someone came on version 2.0 using "Christopher" as his nick, Orgers assumed en masse that he was gay like all the other Chrisses except for C. Tracy. Not so, said that Chris. I had the definitive proof when I sent him a nudie picture of both Aaron and myself and he wouldn't cybersex with us. "I'm as heterosexual as Tom Selleck", said Breeder Chris, and I believed him. [This message was edited Mon May 5 20:31:51 PDT 2003 by Aerogram]

THE DIVINITY6 CONTROVERSY
Spring 2003 Certainly the biggest hoopla that ever happened on the Org involving real, live posting by a party discussed in the press. The details are too depressing to contemplate, but it involves a person leaving a cd of her own music on the stage at a Prince soundcheck and apparently being scolded for doing so by the star. It was mentioned in the press and discussed here by this individual. To this day, it stands as a monument to the perils of trying to defend oneself on a discussion board.
