Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I did hear from him again and it was basically catch-up things and then he apologized to me for being such an ass when we dated. He told me that at that time he should not have been in a relationship and that he had a lot of growing up to do.
I then emailed him back and told him about my new relationship and sent him a pic. He said we look happy and that I look exactly the same and haven't aged a bit.
I get the impression that he is going to back off now that he sees how happy I am and what I've achieved since we broke up.
It feels so good to see how far I've come
