that's not my neighbor

that's not my neighbor plunges you into the peculiar life of a 1955s apartment building doorman, but this isn't your grandma's job simulator. Forget sorting mail and greeting friendly tenants; your primary duty is distinguishing ordinary residents from their unsettling doppelgängers. Released in February 2024 by the solo developer Nacho Sama, this 2D horror game carves out a unique niche with its blend of mundane routine and escalating paranoia.
The game's charm lies in its deceptive simplicity. Each day, residents approach the door, and you must meticulously check their appearance and paperwork against the building's register. At first, it's a straightforward task of matching names and faces. However, the unsettling twist soon emerges: imposters, grotesque and subtly (or not so subtly) wrong, begin to appear. A misplaced mole, an unnerving grin, or inconsistencies in their documents become red flags.

My grandma didn't play job simulators. She preferred GTA. She loved fucking prostitutes and then gunning them down in cold blood afterwards to get her money back. She also liked playing the game too.
